Welcome to Our New Seminarian- Andrew Ogletree
Andrew is in his second year at Berkeley Seminary at Yale Divinity School and is seeking Holy Orders in the Episcopal Church in Connecticut. Andrew grew up in Fairfield, CT and attended St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, where he was a chorister and member of the adult choir and youth group. He graduated from Greens Farms Academy in Westport, and did his undergraduate degree at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Before beginning seminary, Andrew lived in New York City for 13 years, working for Sotheby’s for nearly 10 years, and specializing in English and European decorative arts. He currently operates his own art and antiques business while attending seminary. Andrew belonged to the Church of the Heavenly Rest in NYC for many years, and was involved in outreach ministries, learning how to partner with various other churches and not-for-profits in Harlem. He was also involved in arts ministries, stewardship, and youth ministries. Andrew was married in June to his now husband Travis, who grew up in Austin, Texas. Andrew loves to sail, garden, go to house museums and art galleries. Andrew considers himself an unabashed Anglo/Scotophile and loves the great choral and music traditions of the Episcopal and Anglican Church. Andrew believes that God calls each of us to be our truest selves by learning to love others and ourselves as children of God. He is excited and delighted to get to know the parish, to learn by listening and participating, and to humbly bear witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is so grateful for the opportunity to be part of the St. Paul’s community and looks forward to working with you and learning from you.
