Thank you so much for the cards, emails, lovely meals and to the many who attended my dad's memorial service. The care and concern from this congregation following my dad's death is a beautiful reminder of what makes St Paul's such a special place.
My dad's somewhat unexpected death, as Gordon and I are still mourning the death of his two parents, has been hard. Losing three of the most important people in our lives reminds us of the preciousness of life while affirming our belief that our beloved family members rest with God. Just like those of you who also grieve, Gordon and I trust in the love of God to sustain us.
Many, many thanks to all who stepped up these past weeks. Eric has been a true God send, jumping in with a confident pastoral, calm presence. Deacon Liz has provided steady worship, leadership and pastoral care to our parishioners. Elizabeth has as always managed the office and countless details with efficiency and professionalism. David,Ann and Luis have continued their excellent ministry to this congregation while I have been away. I am also appreciative of the Vestry's support during my leave. Deep thanks to our Senior Warden, Margaret Feldmeth, for her incredible leadership during my leave and her pastoral care and concern for me.
I return to St. Paul's on Sunday and very much look forward to worshiping with you.
In the hope of Christ
