Holy Days of Remembrance
All Hallows’eve is fast approaching, and as the nights blacken earlier, and a chill sets in under our doors, we begin our seasonal hunkering down. It always seems fitting that each year we remember the dead at the start of this dark time on our calendars. On November 3rd we will be celebrating All Saint’s Day and All Soul’s Day. Each year parishioners from St. Paul’s are asked to submit a name or names of loved ones who have died in the past year. This year all parishioners can email me a name or a series of names which we will remember at our Services on the 3rd. I can be emailed here.
Below is a collect for the departed, which I will be focusing on in my Sermon on November 3rd.
O eternal Lord God, who holdest all souls in life: Give, we beseech thee, to thy whole Church in paradise and on earth thy light and thy peace; and grant that we, following the good examples of those who have served thee here and are now at rest, may at the last enter with them into thine unending joy...
May God bless each of you,
Rev. Eric Fialho
