Blessings of the Bells This Sunday
Dear people of St. Paul's,
This Sunday as we return to two inside services (8AM and 10:15AM), we will bless the lovely carillons which were so generously donated by Spike and Jaye Richey. For those who have already heard the sounds of the bells pealing again, it has brought a tremendous sense of joy and a feeling of normalcy to our community. Many, many thanks to Spike and Jaye.
You will also notice as you enter the sanctuary our beautiful new steps, completed just this week in a project overseen by Gary Ashley. Thank you Gary.
I want to share some points of clarification on services inside. Given the loosening of COVID requirements, we ask those who have not been vaccinated to wear a mask. When the children, who can't yet be vaccinated, join us during Communion the clergy will put on their masks modeling for them our concern. No reservations are required inside. We ask that you continue to make informal efforts to socially distance. We will also be keeping the windows open to ensure additional air circulation.
I am grateful to the leadership of the re-opening team and the vestry as we have navigated yet again the next stage of the pandemic. With all this wonderful re-opening news, I recognize that many of these welcome changes may also be a source of unexpected anxiety and worry. It is in these times when we turn, as always, to God in prayer, seeking that peace of God which passes alI understanding. May this prayer from the Book of Common Prayer give you quiet confidence in God's unceasing presence: O God of peace, who has taught us that in returning and rest we shall be saved and through quietness and confidence You shall be our strength: By the might of your Spirit lift us, we pray, to your presence, where we may be still and know that you are God; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
In the Hope of God,
